My work at Revitt

I started Revitt in January 2017. We work as part of a business’s leadership team, taking responsibility for its technical direction. The aim is to help the business stay competitive, work more efficiently and move forward with confidence.

We set the technology strategy and roadmap with the leadership team, lead the agreed technical work and oversee the people, suppliers and delivery. The role can cover hiring, training and change consulting. We keep up with developments in software, systems, AI and whatever comes next, and help clients judge what matters to their business, what is worth adopting and what can wait. As software gets easier to build, choosing what is worth building matters more. We weigh up the opportunity, cost, disruption and ongoing ownership, including when an existing product, a process change or no new software is the better answer.

We also have the people to deliver websites, shops, business systems and custom software. Those builds and implementation projects are additional work, scoped and quoted separately from the ongoing leadership work.

I lead the client relationships and stay close to the engineering. Our team brings experience across manufacturing, business systems, design, software development and cloud infrastructure.

Technical leadership and hands-on software delivery for clients, with an experienced team around the work.

Head of Research and Development, Gateway.FM

January 2025 to June 2026

I led R&D during part of Revitt's wider engagement with Gateway.FM, with responsibility for hiring, growing the team and overseeing highly technical delivery. Our team worked on its core platform and blockchain infrastructure. Read about the work.

Software Development Technical Lead, bet365

February 2019 to March 2021

Technical leadership on high-performance software platforms. My earlier engineering work also includes SeeTickets and fintech.

I studied at Imperial College London. I'm also a Freeman of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, since September 2025.

What I'm exploring

I'm interested in AI that can do useful work, the tools around it and the practical limits of running models locally. I build and test things myself, then write up what worked and what didn't.
